Slaby Featured in TIME’s 2008 Pictures of the Year
Had a pleasant surprise of coming home a few days ago to find that TIME has included one of the pictures shot for an assignment over the summer in their 2008 Pictures of the Year here on their website. The photograph comes from an article on the changing role of NORAD –the highly armored underground facility responsible, in part, for tracking worldwide missile launches. TIME also produced an online essay here and I blogged a little bit about it here. The mountain-bunker is pictured above along with the city lights of Colorado Springs in the rearview mirror of my pleasantly aging pickup. She turns ten next month, in case anyone wanted to send her a quart oil or a passenger-side CV boot (part number CVUN2372).
