intro

Dear Faithful Reader,

It is with great excitement that we announce the launch of the brand new Luceo Images website. Our revamped destination will feature a dynamic new group blog with individual blogs for each of our photographers that will be updated regularly. While there is always a twinge of nostalgia that comes with closing an outlet to share thoughts and personal work, this move has been anxiously anticipated and we are excited to start showcasing all the hard work that has gone into this new creation.

So pull up your stakes and move on over to our new blog. Make yourself at home, we’ll be here a while.

Slaby recently spent several days photographing the Haverfield family for Audubon Magazine.  The Haverfield’s have been embroiled in a long-running war with the county in which their cattle ranch sits over the presence of prairie dogs on the property.  The Haverfields believe the prairie dogs contribute to increased productivity on their ranch.  Old school western Kansas does not.  You can read more about the debate and view more pictures on Slaby’s blog, here.

Slaby recently photographed Patagonia Sportswear founder Yvon Chouinard for U.S. News & World Report’s Best Leaders issue. Chouinard, an avid climber and outdoorsman, describes himself as a natural innovator and a reluctant businessman.  Patagonia’s business model is unique in that it encourages responsible growth and has a built in system that returns 1% of its net sales to environmental causes.  The company also pays employees to work full-time on environmental issues.

You can view more photographs and read more about the process on Slaby’s blog, here.

Slaby for The Wall Street Journal

Slaby recently photographed the Shearn family for The Wall Street Journal.  The Shearns purchased their seven bedroom home in Cherry Hills Village, an exclusive, gated suburb of Denver, for more than $900,000 below it’s original list price. The house sold for slightly less than 1.3 million dollars as a short sale, a pre-foreclosure type of transaction that allows the bank and the troubled seller to move the property before repossession. The bank takes the proceeds of the sale, usually less than the outstanding balance on the property, in order to avoid the expense and burden of foreclosure proceedings.
